"I live local and used to work full time. I gave up work due to my mental health. I became very low at one point and took an overdose. A little bit after this event the CLC was suggested to me. Because of my mental health I became quite isolated also due to lack of routine from not working anymore."
What were you doing before you started attending CLC?
My mood was very low but I tried to keep busy. I got a dog and that helped me get out more.
What have you attended since becoming a member?
-Creating Better Chances project
What has helped since becoming a member?
The counselling, well being courses, acupuncture and Creating Better Chances project helped me a lot. I was also involved in organising a beach party from scratch and I never would have thought I would have been able to do that. I would recommend to just come along, you don't know if you don't try. There is such a variety of activities, you just need to find one that you like.
What would you say to others about CLC?
It's a good thing in Prestwich which is close to transport and in a good place. What's not to like? There is so much to offer. Come along and join in, you don't know what you're missing.
What have you achieved since you became member of CLC?
I have gained much more confidence. I'm getting out of the house more. It resulted in me doing volunteering. I helped research/plan and deliver a Beach party that I didn't think I was capable of doing.
