Tell me a little about yourself & what has brought you to the centre?
My mental health has been on and off for around twenty years, I live in the local area. I lost both my parents within a short time of each other. I was very down, withdrawn and isolated. I was hiding from everything.
How were you dealing with your situation before starting to attend CLC?
I wasn't dealing with my issues at all. I had become very isolated and numbing myself with diazepam.
The classes and counselling have helped a lot. Also being able to socialise with other people has helped me.
What would you recommend to others?
I would recommend the Centre as a whole - all the classes and activities.
What would you say to others about CLC?
I would say just try the classes/activities/therapies because they do work. You do have to want to make the change though - but they do work. You can get better.
What have you achieved since you became member of CLC?
I was refused bereavement counselling through the GP as I did not
meet the criteria at that time.
