We are thrilled to announce that our very own Shelley has been shortlisted in the category of Peoples Champion for the Greater Manchester Health and Care Champion Awards 2024, and we could not think of a more deserving person! The Greater Manchester Health and Care Champion Awards are organised by NHS Greater Manchester, and were first held in 2018. They are an opportunity to show recognition and gratitude to those working hard to improve the health and wellbeing of the people in our communities. Over 500 nominations were received from across the health and care sector of all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester. Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, said: “It’s fantastic to see the Greater Manchester Health and Care Champion Awards are back again for their fifth year.” “The variety of individuals and teams shortlisted across Greater Manchester is outstanding – from midwives, to care workers, and charities helping the homeless and mental health services. I’m really pleased that they are getting the recognition they deserve, and I look forward to finding out more about their hard work and innovation at the awards ceremony in July.” Shelley had been with The Creative Living Centre for over 16 years, tirelessly supporting those facing mental health and wellbeing challenges with dedication, kindness and humility. Shelley is one of only three people being shortlisted for this award across the whole of Greater Manchester. Please join us in congratulating her for this amazing achievement, and in wishing her good luck for when the winner is announced! We are thrilled that ClayTime Stockport are able to join us at the CLC again this May. Book your place with reception as spaces are limited
Cooking with Confidence and 'Fakeaway Thursday' cooking workshops have been a wonderful addition to the activities we do here at the centre. Tailored funding for both of these projects allowed us to purchase equipment and ingredients to create and deliver these sessions, allowing members to learn new skills, make some delicious food and more importantly, to have fun. Although this funding has now ended, we are endeavouring to keep our Cooking with Confidence sessions running due to their success and feedback from members.
