Psychodrama Psychotherapy taster session

Anthea is our trainee psychodrama psychotherapist. She is currently working one-to-one but is looking to run a psychodrama group from May with space for up to ten members! Now you may be wondering what psychodrama is or how a psychodrama group is different from our current Drama for Fun group that runs on a Monday afternoon?

Well, psychodrama is a form of action-based therapy. Whilst our current Drama for Fun group explores imaginary scenarios through acting out scripts or through improvisation for fun using techniques like movement, freeze frame, improvisation, role play and more, a psychodrama group is a therapy group that uses the same kind of techniques to explores our real-life difficulties that cause us to struggle with our mood, our general mental health, even with ourselves and others in our day-to-day lives. It helps us to understand better our behaviours and those of others’ and change the way we respond to the people and events that happen in our everyday lives. It can also be good fun AND you don’t need to have done any drama before. Contact reception if you would like to find out more and book onto the session.
